“I saw this flyer at Southgate Marketplace in Milwaukee for a session by Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care Bridge and thought, why not check it out? I was just curious, really. It turned out to be a total eye-opener. The things they talked about, it was like they were directly describing what my mom was going through with her memory issues and all. That made me take her with me to the next session. We both learned heaps – not just about the signs to look out for but also practical stuff on how to help her day-to-day. It was there I got to chat with some folks from the Alzheimer's Association. They gave me some solid advice and pointed me towards resources I didn’t even know were out there. Since then, I’ve been going to all the sessions I can. They’ve been a huge help, making me feel like I’m not alone in this and giving me the tools to better care for my mom.”

“I’ve been worried about my husband for a while now, noticing little things that just didn't add up. It’s been tough on both of us, even just thinking about getting him evaluated – it felt like admitting something we weren’t ready to face. But I went to the most recent session by Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care Bridge, and honestly, it changed how I see everything.

The session was a wake-up call but in a good way. They talked about recognizing the early signs and how crucial early help can be. It was so informative, and I felt empowered knowing there are steps we can take that can really make a difference. They also shared stories from other people going through the same thing, which made us feel less alone. It’s been a hard road, but now I feel like we have the support and knowledge to take the next steps. This session gave me the push I needed to help him get the evaluation and care he needs. I’m grateful for that.”

“I was often getting confused, ending up at wrong places, and sometimes I would mix up the people I work for. It started to scare me. Then, I attended a session by Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care Bridge. It opened my eyes, and my family also started to understand that maybe I have a real problem.

This program has really helped a lot. They explained about early signs and how we can get help, which is not easy around here because of how healthcare works and what people think about these problems. After going to these sessions, my family has been helping me keep things straight. They help me remember where I need to go and who I am meeting.

It feels good to have support like this. Now I don’t feel so alone, and we know more about what to do next. These sessions have helped us to manage better and are guiding us toward the right kind of help.”

“For a long time, we didn’t understand what was happening to our mother, Akhtar Begum. She would forget things, repeat herself, and sometimes accuse us of things that never happened. We thought she was just acting crazy, and it caused a lot of arguments and hurt feelings in our family. We didn’t realize that she might actually be sick.
Then we heard about the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Care Bridge sessions and decided to attend. It changed everything for us. We learned that her memory loss wasn’t something she could control – it was a real condition. The people at the session explained the signs and how families can help instead of getting frustrated. We started to realize we had been handling things the wrong way.

Now, instead of arguing with her, we try to support her. We remind her gently and help her with her daily tasks. It’s brought our family closer, and we finally understand what’s going on with our mother. The sessions have been a blessing, helping us take steps in the right direction to get her the help she needs.”
